Year 1 Maths
Topic: 3D shapes
The class study 3D shapes, and play a game in which they have to use new vocabulary to describe a shape to their partner.
Year 1 Literacy
Topic: The Enormous Turnip
This year 1 Literacy class are looking at the topic of growing things. They have learnt the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and the associated actions. This lesson sees the children moving on to the ‘innovate’ stage where they begin to think about changes to the story.
Year 2 Independent Learning
The teacher sets out a variety of engaging activities in different subjects such as Maths, English, Design, and History so children can practise and embed their learning. Half the class have set activities to follow, whilst the other have the freedom to choose their own.
Year 2 Maths
This mixed ability class looks at simple multiplication. In the previous session the pupils reviewed what they already knew. In this lesson any gaps in knowledge are reviewed and the teacher has narrowed down which methods children need to focus on.
Year 3 Science
Topic: Investigating Healthy Bodies
This Science lesson takes a cross-curricular approach, pairing the creative curriculum theme of healthy bodies and ancient Egypt, with Maths skills of recording and reading information from tables.
Year 4 Maths
Topic: 6 Times Table
The children use and review their times table knowledge in a money context, discussing what they will need to know in order to successfully run stalls.
