The videos cover a range of subjects and are supplied with reports and judgments made by a qualified Ofsted inspector. Unlike other observations, reports and judgments are based on the video evidence rather than the lesson itself.
This resource also includes teachers’ lesson plans, evaluation forms, and a range of continuing professional development materials.
Lessons are:
Year 10 Citizenship
The aim of this lesson is to support students in achieving higher grades for the evaluation section of their GCSE coursework (AQA). Students are put into the role of BBC News reporters and work in groups to choose, develop and finally present stories to the class.

Year 8 History
In this lesson students examine how public health improved in the 19th century in Britain. Objectives of the lesson are to give the children a basic chronological understanding and to look at the cause and consequences of these developments.

Year 9 French
In this lesson students revise the verb ‘avoir’ and learn parts of the body in order to say if they hurt. Behaviour in this lower ability group is carefully managed by the teacher and all students are encouraged to participate and work together. Finally pupils complete a match up exercise of newly learnt vocabulary.

Year 7 Maths
Lesson 1 of 5 aiming to consolidate and extend students’ ability to apply properties of 2-D shapes to solve problems. The lesson is made up of question and answer sessions, group activities, feedback and mymaths.co.uk models. By the end of the session students have learnt how to construct accurate triangles.

Year 7 French
In this lesson students learn to be able to use à accurately. The context of the lesson is talking about places in town.The lesson is made up of listening, speaking and reading activities. Finally, students assess each other’s learning using flash cards.

Year 7 Spanish
Topic: Activities and percentages
In this lesson students learn to say how often they do an activity, understand sentences about free time and produce sentences of their own.
Year 9 Music
Topic: Layering music
In this year 9 top set class the students layer a baseline, chord sequence and melody over a drumbeat.
Year 10 Spanish
Topic: Talking about holidays
In this fast-paced lesson, students learn how to talk about going on holiday. This is the first lesson of a new unit of work. Vocabulary for questioning is being revisited using a combination of activities. Students will be able to say/write about where they normally go on holiday.

Year 10 Drama
This lesson is focussed on the key skills in Drama of strategies, mediums and elements. Students develop performance work from a stimulus. Students then write up and analyse their experience in groups and as a class.

Year 10 Maths
In this lesson students explore how to solve linear equations, solve simultaneous equations using elimination and modify equations to allow for elimination method of solving.
