These three primary lesson DVDs are supplied with reports and judgments made by a qualified Ofsted inspector. Each lesson has been judged Good/Outstanding based on the new Ofsted framework. Unlike other observations, reports and judgments are based on the video evidence rather than the lesson itself.

Lesson DVD packs include a CD with teachers’ lesson plans, lesson report and judgment, evaluation forms, and a range of continuing professional development activities.

Lessons are:

Year 2 Literacy
This year 2 class are looking at story writing, in this case scary stories. They look at describing a setting and the context is a haunted house which is discussed with talk partners. Various senses are explored, what they could see, touch, and smell if they entered the house.

Year 5 Literacy
In this lesson the class look at forming complex sentences in their writing. This follows on from the work done on visual literacy and the focus has been on story writing. They are now at the point where they are working on the climax and resolution of their stories, and by using complex sentences they aim to improve the quality of their writing and make it more interesting to the reader.

Year 6 Maths
In this lesson the class look at pictograms to represent data, focussing specifically on whether children can think of keys to use in their pictograms. At the end of the lesson children evaluate each other’s work against the success criteria generated in previous sessions.
